Purchase new 433Mhz remote control key

Hello, I'm writing to you from Italy, I have a 1999 BMW Z3 2.8 and I need to buy a new remote control key (433 MHZ, right?). I contacted 2 different BMW workshops and they told me that it can no longer be ordered. I saw on HUBAUER that a set was available that includes the remote control key I need, code 51 21 1 000 226. Is this the correct code? I said "It was available" because it was until last Wednesday afternoon... Now the link is no longer valid https://www.hubauer-shop.de/de/satz-sch ... 00226.html
Is it sold out just now that I needed it, after 25 years? I had also printed the corresponding page which I attach. I only know HUBAUER, can anyone suggest where I can find it alternatively? Thank you

Dear friend
The BMW Dealership told me exact the same information two Months ago.
Here you can read it.
Zusätzliche Schlüssel Z3
But you don't have to buy the Key at the BMW Dealership.
You can buy your Key Here
https://www.ebay.de/itm/224184134835
You send the Dealer a picture of your current Key, and he creates you a new Key.
With this Key, you can open every Lock Cylinder except the Trunk.
The Trunk Lock cylinder don't work.

For your Wireless Open an Close you have to use a certain order in your Car.
1. open the door (if necessary, unlock it manually)
2. close the door
3. switch on the ignition
4. switch off the ignition
5. remove the key
6. Press and hold the left button
7. Press the middle button three times
8. release both buttons
9. The Car Show you the right programming. It will Close and Open one time.

Electronic immobilizer
You have to programming the electronic Immobilizer.
How to do it, you can read Here.

Hi Miky,

Do you need another new key or just replacement for a non-working old key? If latter, you can reuse the transponder from the old key and there's no need to reprogram the Immobilizer.

For your understanding:
The key has, beside fitting the locks, two independent functions. The built-in transponder (a small bit of plastics) unlocks the Immobilizer via the antenna around the ignition lock.
The electronics inside the key with the three buttons is the remote control for the central locking, which needs to be teached in by the procedure mentioned by mikel.

The ebay key (I bought 6 already) will also work for the trunk lock with small adjustments to the tip.
For 25 bucks it's really a cheap solution to complete the key set again or replace a broken/worn out one.

Best regards,
Steffen

It's a crazy story: I have to get a new key because the original one burned in a fire! I had left my Z3 at a BMW workshop and while the car was there, an electric car that was there caught fire and in the fire my key which was stored nearby also burned! Luckily my Z3 was in the courtyard outside and had no damage... Now obviously the workshop has to provide me with a new key but they don't know how to give it to me since it's out of stock! What do you recommend me to do? So my only option is to buy this key from eBay? It's a Chinese copy, right? Is it good quality? No hope of getting an original one from BMW? Thank you

Is the key really completely destroyed? It might be worth trying to dig out the transponder, if possible. Otherwise there's no other way than an original key with predefined transponder for your vehicle's Immobilizer from BMW, or the ebay variant and reprogramming the Immobilizer.

What you can check is whether a normal key or spare key/valet key is still available, without remote. This way you get an original transponder fitting your car right away, and you just use key and remote from ebay.
Quality is OK. The buttons are not as smooth as the oem key, but the key web (part which fits the lock) is perfect. It's machined, not hand made, based on decoding your key. Well, which might be a problem in case you have absolutely no other key as reference.

But a good locksmith does have tools to decode your key using your locks on the car. See here:

So I would first try to get two original oem normal keys from BMW if possible, then buy the ebay keys for remote and transplant the transponder.

Let us know if you have any further questions. Also I can handle the reprogramming of the Immobilizer if there's no other way. I just need your Immobilizer ECU ("EWS") and the keys/transponders. It's free, only shipping. So you see, there's always a solution.

Best regards,
Steffen

I wanted a key myself from BMW 3 months ago.
As Miky says, the key with remote is not available.
The BMW Autohaus Uwe Ratzel GmbH & Co. KG in Linkenheim-Hochstetten
gave me an offer for a normal key.
This would have cost me 190€ net. without Tax.
This Type of Key:

Yes, this would be an alternative for getting an original transponder. On the picture that's the Valet-key missing the notch in the centerline. It only unlocks driver door and ignition, not trunk and the indoor compartments. But for making a copy that's not critical, the code of the web is the same and as mentioned, it's all about the oem transponder.

Thank you for the precious help you are providing me. Yes, unfortunately the original remote control key was completely destroyed... It wasn't the only key I had (but it was in perfect condition, practically new. I'm very angry that the most beautiful key I had was destroyed). I have another remote control key that is the same but it is very worn.
So I have to tell the BMW workshop to provide me with the first key they have available. Then from this key that BMW will provide me, I need to take the transponder and transfer it to the remote control key bought on eBay. Did I get it right? It's correct? Do you think the BMW workshop will be able to carry out this operation? Because I'm not sure I know how to transfer the transponder from one key to another.

That's the easiest task... The normal key pops open with a blade, the transponder is picked out and placed in the new key, which opens with screws (like battery change)
